Pakistan repairs 20 churches after Jaranwala mob attack. Authorities have repaired 20 churches that were damaged in a mob attack in Jaranwala city in August of this year over blasphemy allegations.

A delegation of foreign journalists visited the tehsil Jaranwala a day earlier at the invitation of Caretaker CM Punjab Mohsin Naqvi.

The delegation was welcomed by the Deputy Commissioner and CPO of Faisalabad, Abdullah Nayyer Sheikh, and Muhammad Ali Zia.

The deputy commissioner gave the journalists a briefing on church repairs and the rehabilitation of Jaranwala incident victims.

Sheikh claimed that the government had given each family Rs 2 billion in financial assistance and that the victims had peacefully moved back into their homes.

As Pakistan repairs 20 churches after the Jaranwala mob attack, the DC also praised the cooperation of the city’s Christian and Muslim leaders in bringing about peace. He claimed that peace committees at the divisional, district, and tehsil levels were crucial in this regard.

On August 16, two Christians were accused of desecrating the Holy Quran, which led to a mob attack in Jaranwala city.

Police have received 222 complaints in response to the incident, and more than 300 people have been taken into custody.
