Islamabad woman dances on road to protest for ‘release of PTI Chief’.
A woman dressed in black and wearing a scarf over her face drew attention as she danced in an unusual protest against the detention of Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf Chairman Imran Khan.
When former Prime Minister Imran Khan was arrested last week on corruption charges, there was little protest and no major demonstrations were reported anywhere in the country, in contrast to what the country of over 220 million witnessed three months ago.
According to unverified tweets, a woman took to Islamabad’s F10 Chowrangi in a show of defiance of authority, demanding the release of the former premier.

Clips shared online showed the woman dressed all in black and shaking her legs as she stood elevated from the ground, swaying her hands in the air, as passersby stared.
According to unverified reports, the woman threatened to tear her clothes if Imran Khan was not released from jail.

On the other hand, according to The Intercept, citing a confidential Pakistani government cable, the US State Department reportedly pressured Pakistani authorities on March 7, 2022, meeting to oust Imran Khan as prime minister because of his neutrality on Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
The meeting between Pakistan’s ambassador to the United States and two State Department officials has sparked intense scrutiny, debate, and speculation in Pakistan over the last year and a half, while supporters of Khan and his military and civilian opponents struggled for power.
One month after the meeting with US officials mentioned in the leaked Pakistani government document, Khan was ousted from office in a no-confidence vote in Parliament.
The election is believed to have been rigged with the assistance of Pakistan’s powerful military.
As Secret Pakistan Cable reveals US pressure to depose Imran Khan, Khan and his supporters have been at conflict with the military and its civilian allies, whom Khan claims staged his deposition at the direction of the US.
The text of the Pakistani cable, which was produced by the ambassador and sent to Pakistan, has not previously been disclosed.
