Missing Indian woman’s body found in Gilgit-Baltistan. A 28-year-old woman who had gone missing on July 15 in the Indian-controlled region of Kargil has been found dead by Pakistani authorities.
In Gilgit-Baltistan’s Kharmang area, the woman’s body was discovered, according to Deputy Commissioner (DC) Muhammad Jaffar.
He claimed that the woman’s remains were found in the Kargil River and interred at Kharmang.
Once the woman’s identity is verified through DNA testing, he said the body might be returned to India following communication between the foreign ministries of the two nations.

As a missing Indian woman’s body was found in Gilgit-Baltistan, Kharmang resident Qasim claimed that the deceased was given a Muslim funeral.
Earlier, the Kargil Police Station on the Indian side distributed a leaflet with the woman’s picture on it.
Additionally, the leaflet was delivered to the GB administration to recover the remains.
The woman, known as Belqees Banoo, was described in the brochure as being five feet tall, dressed in green clothing, and sporting a red jumper.
She disappeared on July 15 from her Akchamal house.
In a statement, Najaf Ali, the chairman of the Baltistan Awami Action Committee, claimed that the closing of the old Skardu-Kargil road had left residents of the villages near the Line of Control in extremely tough circumstances.
He demanded that old pathways be restored to benefit communities in both nations.
