Who is eligible for govt’s scooteis scheme for women? The federal government has launched a woman empowerment programme in which scooties will be provided at a reduced cost.
Nilofar Bakhtiar, Chairperson of the National Commission for Human Rights, announced the news during a ceremony in the federal capital.
The provincial government of Punjab has decided to offer electronic Scotties. The Punjab government’s Scooty scheme is a pilot programme for female students and domestic workers. The government will give them Scotties in convenient instalments.
CM Punjab has launched a scheme for women on the wheel in Sargodha, Multan, Lahore, and Rawalpindi. The first time the government of Punjab is offering Scotties to females.
He stated that the PML-N-led government has set aside Rs5 billion for women’s empowerment in the country and that a creche project will also be launched.
How Much Scooties Will Be Offered?
Bakhtiar said a total of 22,000 scooties will be distributed under this programme among working women, adding that each province will receive 4,000 scooties, while Islamabad will receive 4,100, and Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) 1,000. He said Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) will also be part of the project.
Who is eligible for govt’s scooteis scheme for women?
The commission chairperson said women working in the public or private sector aged between 18 to 55 years are eligible for the programme.
There is also the income bar, she said, adding that women earning between Rs30,000 to Rs150,000 are eligible to apply.
Requirements of Scooty Scheme by Punjab Government
The Punjab government will distribute Scooties among eligible ladies employees and students. The government of Punjab will pay interest on Scooties to banks. Applicants will have to provide all documents and affidavits to receive Scooty. The government will take proof and guarantee of parents and husbands.

- Mention the consent of the parent or guardian to apply for this scheme. The guarantor and guardian will have to present a guarantee.
