SJC, JC changes after justice Bandial oath as Chief Justice of Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: Following Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial’s oath, the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) and Judicial Commission (JC) have been reformed.

CJ Bandial became the chairman of the SJC and the JC after taking the oath as the top judge.

Justice Qazi Faez Isa, Justice Maqbool Baqir, and two senior chief justices of the high courts will make up the SJC.

As the fourth in the order of seniority, Justice Ahsan was elected to the JC.

Justice Qazi Faez Isa, Justice Maqbool Baqir, Justice Sardar Tariq Masood, and Justice Ijazul Ahsan are among the four senior Supreme Court judges who will make up the JC.

The attorney general, the law minister, and Justice (retd) Sarmad Jalal Usmani are among the other members of the JC. The JC also includes Advocate Akhtar Hussain, a representative of the Pakistan Bar Council.

It’s worth noting that the JC is in charge of appointing judges to the superior courts, whilst the SJC is in charge of removing them.
