Pakistani authorities are still investigating the Corps Commander House attack, which also serves as the residence of Corps Commander Lahore, which occurred weeks after hundreds of people stormed the landmark edifice following the detention of former Prime Minister Imran Khan by paramilitary forces.
Following the May 9 occurrences that provoked a sweeping crackdown by civil and military authorities on the previous ruling party Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI), several theories and conspiracies emerged, and now the propaganda surrounding the central character of the Jinnah House attack has been disproved.
A man could be seen leading the charge in many footages from the May 9 incident, but his name remained unknown until today.
The man, dressed in a formal suit and a light-colored shirt, yells at army authorities stationed outside Jinnah House’s main gate before others attack the structure.
This individual has been identified as a Pakistani military intelligence officer on social media since the Corps Commander House attack and ransacked by PTI employees and supporters. A story was promoted in which a suited man and his assistants initiated the attack as part of a wicked plot to frame PTI employees. During the sweeping crackdown, PTI leaders, including former Prime Minister Imran Khan, questioned various personalities, accusing them of corruption.
His brother also corroborated Mehboob’s appearance in the video, despite the fact that the family has kept a distance from him since his detention. Authorities say he will be tried alongside other miscreants under the Army Act and the Official Secrets Act for the May 9 incidents.
