UET Mardan suspends assistant controller exams on charges of May 9 vandalism. An assistant controller of examination (ACE) was suspended by the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Mardan in response to claims that he was involved in vandalism that took place on May 9 in the neighborhood.

According to a notification sent out by the UET Mardan Registrar, the vice chancellor approved the suspension of ACE Muhammad Ismail’s services following a police investigation.

The notification stated that the accused ACE had been charged under FIR No 833, dated May 9, under several sections, including 341, 324, 435, 427, 120B, 147, 148, 149, 7ATA, 143, 188, 500, 501, 337A(I), 337 F1 PPC, and 16-18MPO.

As UET Mardan suspends assistant controller exams on charges of May 9 vandalism, the notification stated that SP Investigation Mardan conveyed the official’s involvement in sabotage activities on May 9 in a letter numbered 1473/GB/Inv, dated May 26.

It went on to say that the Syndicate would formally approve the official’s dismissal in accordance with the rules in place.

On the other hand, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Thursday said that as a nation, we will not forget the incident of May 9 when, unfortunately, “an individual lured his rioting gangs, who dishonored the martyrs and ghazis and carried out attacks on the military installations”.

PM Shehbaz made these remarks during his visit to the army graveyard, where he paid his respects at the Martyrs Monument, laid a wreath, and offered prayers for the souls of martyrs.

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir was also present alongside the premier.

The martyrs – the great sons of the soil laid down their lives to defend every inch of the country and to eliminate terrorism, he remarked.

He said these brave martyrs fought the enemy on the snow-capped mountains, in plains and deserts and offered their lives, and saved the country from any harm.

“We promise that these terrorists will be completely annihilated according to the law and these incidents will not be allowed to be repeated. I salute the great mothers and children of these martyrs.”
