The Punjab government announced a Rs200,000 reward on Saturday for information leading to the arrest of those involved in the attack on the official house of the Lahore Corps Commander.
The police department also released images of suspects taken from video footage of the incident. It encouraged the public to assist the authorities in their arrest, stressing that the identity of the information will be kept private.
Meanwhile, police have created a committee to investigate the attack on the GHQ and police stations in Rawalpindi, led by SSP Investigation Zunera Azfar. SDPO Cantt, SDPO City, SHO RA Bazar police station, and the charge investigative support team are also members of the committee.
According to reports, the police have decided to arrest former law minister and PTI leader Raja Bashrat in connection with an attack on military sites. The RA police station has opened an investigation into the attack on the GHQ’s gate.
On May 9, Pakistan descended into chaos as PTI supporters launched violent rallies against the arrest of their party’s leader.
Charged protestors had also invaded cantonment zones in various cities, including Lahore, to demonstrate. However, the situation deteriorated when PTI workers with sticks stormed Jinnah House, the residence of the Lahore Corps Commander. People were seen robbing the official home and setting fire to furniture and vehicles in a video released on social media.
