Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Maryam Aurangzeb has threatened to burn CJP’s houses if Imran Khan gets bail today after his appearance in the Supreme Court.
Maryam Aurangzeb held a press conference to criticize CJP’s decision to call Imran Khan into the court at 4:30 pm and warned to burn CJP’s houses if the verdict is given in favor of Imran Khan.
She further denounced Imran Khan for his alleged corruption in the Al Qadir Trust case and Toshakhana case.
Imran Khan was arrested earlier by the NAB from the premises of Islamabad High Court.
On the other hand, the Supreme Court ( SC) on Thursday ordered the Inspector General (IG) Islamabad Police Dr Akbar Nasir Khan to present Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan by 4:30 pm.
The directives come after Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Umar Ata Bandial described the arrest of the PTI leader from the premises of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) as a colossal disgrace to the country’s judicial establishment.
The CJP passed the remark while heading a three-member bench hearing PTI’s petition challenging the arrest of party chief Imran Khan. Apart from the CJP, the bench also includes Justice Athar Minallah and Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar.
The former prime minister’s attorney, Hamid Khan, told the court at the beginning of the hearing that Imran Khan had come to IHC to request an extension of his temporary bail. When the PTI chief was getting his verification done, Rangers personnel broke into the room.
“Rangers misbehaved with Imran Khan and arrested him,” he added. At this, CJP SC Bandial inquired about the case in which Imran Khan was seeking a bail extension.
On this point, Justice Athar Minallah inquired if a plea can be filed before the bio-metric verification is conducted.
