Imran Khan, the leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and a former prime minister, was taken into custody by Rangers on Tuesday outside the Islamabad High Court in the federal capital.
The nation’s anti-graft watchdog in the Al-Qadir trust case detained the former premier after he continued to rant against his rivals and government agencies.
Meanwhile, initial reports suggest that the supporters of the defiant leader are trading blows with law enforcers.

Imran Ahmed Khan Niazi HI PP is a Pakistani politician and former cricket captain who served as the 22nd Prime Minister of Pakistan from August 2018 until April 2022. He is the founder and chairman of the political party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.
Former ruling Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf has announced protesting across Pakistan as the party chief was detained in a graft case.
Fawad Chaudhry urged the public to support Imran Khan by taking to the streets in a social media post. He urged people to leave their homes and claimed that the Islamabad High Court had been attacked. According to Chaudhry, Imran Khan’s car has been surrounded, the IHC has been taken over by Rangers, and lawyers are being tortured.
It was also reported that the PTI leader’s attorney was hurt on Islamabad High Court property.
Soon after the arrest, Islamabad High Court took notice of the arrest of the former prime minister and summoned Islamabad’s Inspector General of Police Islamabad, the Attorney General of Pakistan.
Earlier in the day, Imran shared a clip, saying there is no case against him. “I’m mentally prepared to be arrested. If I have to go to jail, I’m ready,” the PTI chief said.
