List of Countries that have announced Eidul Fitr 2023 on Saturday

Several countries around the world have announced that the first day of Eidul Fitr 2023 would be celebrated on April 22 (Saturday) because the Shawwal moon was not visible in their areas.

According to the Australian Fatwa Council, the Eid festival will begin on Saturday, citing astronomical calculations that show the crescent moon will not be visible on Thursday evening.

Furthermore, Brunei, Indonesia, Singapore, Japan, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, and other nations have set April 22 as Eidul Fitr.

Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates have announced Eid tomorrow.

However, astrologists have already forecast Eid on Saturday due to the minimal chances of seeing the moon.

On the other hand, the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee gathered to sight the moon of Shawwal, the tenth month of the Islamic calendar. The moon has not been sighted.

The conference was also held in different cities across Pakistan by the central committee and its zonal subsidiaries. Later, the Chairman of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Maulana Abdul Kabir Azad conducted a press conference for the announcement.

The moon, however, wasn’t visible from anywhere in Pakistan on Thursday, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).

As the Moon has not been sighted, Eidul Fitr 2023 is scheduled to fall on April 22.
