On Tuesday, Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar announced that the Rescue 1122 service would be expanded to 79 tehsils across the province.
At a ceremony conducted at the Chief Minister’s Office, the chief minister handed over the keys to 22 new ambulances to emergency officers from 11 tehsils.
Sharqpur Sharif, Safdarabad, Narang Mandi, Nowshera Virkan, Nurpur, Quaidabad, Kahror Pakka, Renala Khurd, Pindi Bhattian, Darya Khan, and Jalalpur Pirwala tehsils were the first to receive the rescue assistance.
Two ambulances and a 29-member staff will be available at each tehsil-level rescue station.
New ambulances had been provided for prompt emergency services, and rescue stations had been built in 79 tehsils and towns, according to Chief Minister Buzdar.
By June, he claimed, emergency services would be available in all 79 tehsils.
A service framework for the promotion of rescuers has been established to streamline the emergency services, he observed.
Punjab will be the first province to implement a rescue air ambulance service, according to the chief minister. This would make emergency medical aid more accessible to those in rural locations. Every life is valuable, and everyone has the right to timely treatment, according to the CM.
