ISLAMABAD: Farrukh Habib, Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting, said on Monday that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)-led administration, led by Prime Minister Imran Khan, was attempting to reduce the impact of global inflation on common Pakistanis.
During an interview with PTV News, the minister said that Pakistan was one of the countries that kept its agricultural, industrial, and service sectors running during the Covid-19 pandemic.
“Inflation is rising globally in the post-coronavirus era, and each country is managing its economy in accordance with its resources,” he continued.
Habib pledged that the government would manage inflation and provide immediate assistance to the people, as well as take “all necessary actions to enhance the national economy, which would offer employment prospects in the future.”
The minister’s comments came a day after Prime Minister Imran Khan said in the fifth session of the ‘Aap Ka Wazir-e-Azam, Aap Kay Saath’ that global inflation and commodity price hikes, triggered by a sharp disruption in the supply and demand chain due to the Covid-19 pandemic, had impacted all countries equally.
