The Saudi government has banned performing Umrah more than once during Ramadan, it was revealed on Saturday.
The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has stated that pilgrims are not permitted to repeat Umrah during Ramadan; the kingdom attracts millions of pilgrims during the holy month, and the ban has been implemented to allow all pilgrims to perform the rituals with ease and comfort.
Pilgrims can obtain an Umrah permit for the specified time period by using the Nusuk app. The administration has clarified that there is no feature to change the Umrah date, but pilgrims can cancel their appointment via the Nusuk app before entering the permitted time, and then a new permit will be issued.
The Ministry confirmed that the appointments are updated on a regular basis, and if pilgrims are unable to find a date for a reservation, they can try again later.
The Saudi government is preparing to finalize the arrangements for the Umrah season and has reserved special spots for all those planning to perform Itikaf.

After the Umrah season, the authorities will begin planning for the largest annual event of Hajj, in which the kingdom will welcome over 2.3 million pilgrims and will use Apps such as Nusuk and other digital portals to assist the pilgrims during their month-long stay in the kingdom.
Pakistan has a quota of 179,210 pilgrims for Hajj 2023. The Saudi government has restored the number of pilgrims to pre-Covid levels for the first time.
It should be noted that a 50% quota has been set aside for the Sponsorship scheme, which is a special facility provided to Hajj pilgrims seeking foreign exchange from abroad in the religious affairs ministry’s specific dollar account.
