Pakistan’s ‘largest’ Ramadan relief package announced

No plan to arrest Imran Khan yet, says CM Mohsin Naqvi

The Punjab caretaker cabinet, following the lead of the federal government, has announced the “largest” and “unique” Ramadan relief package in the country.

A Rs53 billion programme to provide free wheat flour bags to families earning less than Rs60,000 was approved by the provincial cabinet, which is led by Caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi, as part of this special package. During the holy month, families with identity cards will receive three bags of 10kg flour free of charge.

The package will benefit more than 15 million families and 100 million people.

The cabinet decided that free wheat flour would be distributed starting on Sha’ban 25 and lasting through Ramadan 25.

A million residents of the federal capital will receive free wheat flour and gasoline during Ramadan as part of this package, which has the full support of the federal government and aims to shield the poor and middle class from the negative effects of inflation.

Punjab has announced Pakistan’s ‘largest’ Ramadan relief package for the working class.
