CM Mohsin Naqvi denies murder of Ali Bilal in police custody

No plan to arrest Imran Khan yet, says CM Mohsin Naqvi

CM Mohsin Naqvi has denied the murder of Ali Bilal in police custody. Caretaker Punjab Chief Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi said on Saturday that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) worker Ali Bilal did not die in police custody.

During a news conference in Lahore with Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab Usman Anwar, CM Mohsin Naqvi shed light on the March 8 protest in which Ali Bilal was killed.

According to CM Naqvi, the death of any citizen is surprising, and the PTI worker did not die as a result of violence.

As the investigation into the death of the PTI worker continues, IGP Usman Anwar has stated that action will be taken against those involved.

The body of PTI worker Ali Bilal was brought to Services Hospital in a vehicle at 6:52 p.m., and the driver of the vehicle was identified as Jahanzeb, according to the IGP, who added that those arrested in connection with this killing will be brought to court.

The PTI claimed that during Wednesday’s standoff at Zaman Park, Punjab police killed its employee Ali Bilal, also known as Zille Shah.

The Punjab Home Department imposed Section 144 in Lahore on Wednesday, citing serious security threats, for seven days. The clashes occurred when police attempted to disrupt a PTI workers’ gathering at PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s Zaman Park residence.

According to the post-mortem report, the victim had 26 marks of torture on his body.

The PTI chief then shared a video of Bilal being taken away in a police van claiming that he was killed in police custody.

The police formed also a committee to probe Bilal’s death on Thursday comprising Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Elite Force Sadiq Ali and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Imran Kashore.

While commenting on the press conference by CM Mohsin Naqvi, PTI leader Shireen Mazari said, “When u try too hard to justify your illegal actions & murderous intent, you flounder. Mohsin Naqvi admits he had the plan to arrest workers regardless. He is proving to be quite the criminal like his Masters.”
