Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called Pakistani President Dr. Arif Alvi on Wednesday, pointing to his ten-point peace formula, to seek Pakistan’s support for a peace plan to resolve the Ukraine-Russia conflict being tabled in the UN General Assembly.
During the conversation, Volodymyr Zelenskyy acknowledged Pakistan’s deep concern about the violence in Ukraine.
He stated that Pakistan was committed to resolving the problem peacefully in accordance with the UN Charter.
He stated that the provisions of the proposed resolution were being reviewed by the Pakistani government.
The two leaders discussed Pakistan-Ukraine relations, as well as energy and food security challenges that affect the developing world in the aftermath of the continuing Russia-Ukraine crisis.
Both sides emphasized the need of improving economic and trade linkages for the mutual benefit of the two countries.
President Zelenskyy also invited the President of Pakistan to visit Ukraine.

On the other hand, Zelensky said earlier that Kyiv needed allies to decide on whether they would deliver modern tanks to strengthen the country’s defence against Russia.
While Berlin and Washington have not officially confirmed the news, sources told Reuters on Tuesday that Germany will send Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine and allow other countries to do the same, while the United States may supply Abrams tanks. Zelensky said the issue was not about five, 10, or 15 tanks, as Ukraine’s needs are greater, but about reaching final decisions on real deliveries.
