Police raid Baloch minister Khetran’s house after Barkhan’s killing sparks outrage. After Marri tribe members were discovered dead, law enforcement officers in the country’s southwest raided the home of Provincial Minister for Communication and Works Sardar Abdul Rehman Khetran.
A woman and two men’s bodies were pulled from a well in the Barkhan district on Tuesday and transported to Quetta, the provincial capital.
Provincial authorities responded to Barkhan’s killing by taking action after tribe members demanded that MPA Khetran be subjected to a thorough investigation into the murders and claimed that five additional members of their family were being held captive in his private prison.
Meanwhile, no hostages were found at the location in a recent raid. As the incident made headlines, a joint investigation team was formed to submit a report.
Amid the serious accusations, Khetran distanced himself from the heinous killing and called it a conspiracy of his rivals. He accused his son to hatch a conspiracy against him to take over the family politics.
The Human Rights Commission of Pakistan strongly condemned the tragic incident, calling it horrifying, amid the outrage. Numerous tweets with the hashtag #JusticeForMarriageFamily still showing up in the trending section were also shared on social media by users.
