PM suggests 50% of patients be treated in KPLRI free of cost. Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has proposed that at least 50% of patients be treated for free at the Pakistan Kidney and Liver Institute (PKLI).
He was speaking to the attendees of a review meeting on contemporary and free treatment facilities for the underprivileged conducted on Sunday at PKLI.
He also stated that special focus should be paid to restoring PKLI’s system of free treatment for the underprivileged.
Shahbaz Sharif stated that the PKLI-established hepatitis prevention and treatment program must be implemented promptly.
He also directed the formation of a special fund and emphasized the need to allocate a specific amount in this regard immediately.
Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi said on the occasion that the provincial government is utilizing all its available resources for the provision of free and modern healthcare facilities to the masses.
He assured the prime minister that following his instruction, immediate steps will be taken to accommodate poor patients in the PKLRI.
