ISLAMABAD: According to Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif is “more corrupt” than his elder brother and former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, citing papers.
Rashid took a shot at the Sharif family during a press conference in Islamabad on Friday, asserting they no longer had any role in the country’s affairs and urging them to “stop waiting for any good opportunity.”
He predicted that the PTI-led government will finish its term and that it would form the next administration as well.
“All four Sharifs are minus from country’s politics,” he added.
Opposition parties were disappointed, according to the minister, because the current government was successfully administering state matters against their wishes.
He claimed that while the administration had completed its three-and-a-half-year term, the opposition still needed “warm-up time” before the 2023 national elections.
“The opposition has been saying since last year that PTI is going to lose power, but it should clear any misunderstanding about the government. Prime Minister Imran Khan is so lucky to have got such incompetent and ineffective opposition,” he remarked.
He claimed that the opposition lacked the vision to comprehend the current circumstances and that the demonstration was held at the incorrect moment. “They’ve already blown their chance, and now all they’ll receive is waste of time.”
“We will welcome them and won’t try to stop them or take any action against their protests,” he added.
