Police conduct raid to arrest girl student torture accused

Police have raided the residence of the schoolgirls accused of torturing and humiliating a classmate over a drug addiction issue at an elite Lahore school. According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, the accused teenager has filed a court petition to get temporary bail.

Police, however, said that when the family arrived at their home in Lahore’s Defence neighborhood on Saturday, the parents and their girls had already departed. It was locked when the police arrived.

Meanwhile, police got a medical checkup of the victim girl which proved that she was tortured.

Police have also been investigated by the school administration in this regard. The incident took place on the issue of smoking e-cigarettes.

Further investigation into the incident was underway.

In a related development, the three girl students who were involved in the torturing of their classmate have moved to court seeking interim bail to avoid arrest.

The court, however, asked Amaima Qaiser, Jannat Malik, and Kainat Malik to submit surety bonds of Rs50,000 each. In their pleas, the accused termed police action to register a case against them as mala fide.

They prayed to the court that they wanted to join the police investigation to reveal the facts.

The girls insisted that they were innocent and urged the court to order approval of their interim bail.

The court also sought records from the Defence police.
