The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has banned private MA and MSc admissions and Punjab University (PU) has also halted registration for these degrees till the issue is resolved.
It is important to note that the former Acting Vice-Chancellor of PU gave the order to begin the registration process for private MA and MSc programs. The administration launched the private registration procedure on December 5 after receiving the former VC’s approval. The registration cutoff date for private candidates was March 15.
However, on January 6th, the HEC issued a warning to the applicants not to get enrolled.
A university delegation will meet the HEC officials to resolve the issue.
Candidates wishing to pursue higher education while working would be adversely affected if HEC does not facilitate or grants permission.
Furthermore, the decisions will also impact students from lower middle-class socioeconomic status, as they will be deprived of pursuing Higher Education.
