Improved air quality prompts lifting of lockdown in Lahore

In response to the province’s worrisome smog levels, the Punjab administration has announced a three-day school closure in a week.

The provincial administration issued the notification after the Lahore High Court on Tuesday ordered the government to announce a three-day school closure in the region.

The notification issued by the Punjab School Education department said “In compliance with the directions of Lahore High Court, it is notified that owing to prevailing smog condition, all public and private schools in the district shall remain closed every Friday & Saturday, in addition to the weekly Middy on Sunday till further orders.
