PPP announces to launch protest movement against government

Garhi Khuda Bakhsh: Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari announced on Monday that his party will begin a protest movement against the incumbent government on January 5 with a public rally in Lahore, Punjab’s provincial capital and the party’s former stronghold.

The PPP leader made the announcement while speaking at a public gathering in Garhi Khuda Bakhsh to commemorate the 14th anniversary of the death of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto.

“PTI government’s days are numbered. Time has come to send the incumbent govt packing,” said Bilawal in his address.

Criticising the economic policies of the incumbent government, the PPP leader said, “PTI govt’s worst economic policies have ruined the country. Giving them more time would not be in the better interest of the country.”

The PPP leader also urged party members to prepare and be ready to confront the federal administration, saying that “war has begun.”

He further stated that the PPP will establish a camp in Lahore and launch a protest movement to topple the PTI-led federal government from the city. PPP will form the next administration in the Centre and all four provinces, according to Bilawal Bhutto.

“PPP will form its government in Centre and all provinces of the country in next general elections,” the party chairman claimed.

In his brief remarks, former president and PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari also slammed the existing government for the country’s soaring inflation.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is a Pakistani politician who is serving as the 37th Minister of Foreign Affairs, in office since 27 April 2022. He became the chairman of the Pakistan People’s Party in 2007, following his mother’s assassination. He belongs to the Bhutto family, a prominent political family in Pakistan.
