The CTD police apprehended another suspect from a mobile store in Wazirabad on Monday in connection with the gun attack on former Prime Minister and PTI Chairman Imran Khan during his long march.
CCTV footage of the suspect’s arrest has also leaked.
The arrested youth’s name is Ahsan, and he is from the Wazirabad town of Sohdra.
According to CTD sources, police have arrested five people, including the primary suspect Naveed, and investigations are ongoing.
On Thursday, during the party’s long march, a gunman opened fire on Imran Khan’s container near Allahwala Chowk, Wazirabad, slightly injuring the former prime minister in the leg and murdering one of his fans. Nine additional people were also injured.
The shooter was apprehended instantly, and authorities later published a video of him in detention, purportedly confessing to the shooting and claiming he acted alone.
Imran Khan, 70, underwent surgery at Shaukat Khanum Hospital in Lahore and was discharged yesterday evening with the recommendation that he rest for two weeks.
During a press conference from the hospital on Sunday, the PTI chief announced that his long march will resume on Tuesday (tomorrow) from the same location where it was halted and that Shah Mehmood Qureshi would lead the march.
