Faisal Shahkar, the Inspector General (IG) of Punjab, has refused to work for the provincial administration and has asked the establishment division to transfer him to the federal government.
Punjab Inspector General (IG) Shahkar wrote a letter to the establishment division and requested immediate transfer.
In his letter, the IG stated that it is difficult for him to continue his current assignments under the Punjab government.
Meanwhile, the establishment division has received IG Shahkar’s letter.
Sources in the establishment division revealed that the federal government would accept Punjab IG’s request.
It is pertinent to mention here that IG Shahkar has been appointed as the United Nations Police Adviser in the Department of Peace Operations (DPO) by UN Secretary-General António Guterres on Nov 1. He will soon join the UN post.
