The police filed cases against Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf protesters in two police stations in the Islamabad Capital Territory on Friday.
According to reports, PTI protesters were arrested for staging protests against their leader Imran Khan’s gun attack in Wazirabad yesterday evening.
The FIRs were filed at the federal capital’s Police Station I-9 and Women Police Station.
A male PTI protester and two female protesters were also detained by police.
Meanwhile, in the aftermath of Imran’s assassination attempt, the Islamabad administration has increased security in the federal capital.
The administration has closed all routes leading to D Chowk in anticipation of PTI protests. Sareena Chowk and Margallah Road, on the other hand, are open for traffic.
To maintain law and order in the city, contingents of Islamabad police, Rangers, and Sindh police have been deployed.
The Islamabad police said in a tweet today, “Red Zone Entry/Exit is closed for traffic from Express Chowk and NADRA Chowk.”
Margallah Road, Ayub Chowk, and Serena Chowk are also options.
All other roads in Islamabad are open to traffic.
