Govt starts online payment service for passport-seeking Karachites

The federal government has launched an online payment system for Karachi-based passport applicants.

Passport applicants will still have a positive experience because they won’t have to wait in lengthy bank lines and can pay the passport fee using their smartphones. This service is already accessible in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and Lahore in addition to Karachi.

Passport applicants can use this service to pay their passport fees through an internet portal and phone app called “Passport Asaan Fee.” It is a digital project by the Interior Ministry to assist the People. “Passport Fee Asaan” aids users in the calculation and payment of passport fees. For online fee payment, residents can download the Passport Fee Easy app from the Google Play Store. Through the app, fees may be paid using a bank account, ATM, Jazz Cash, Easy Paisa, or One Link.

Many applicants visiting the three passport offices in Karachi on the second day of service paid the fee online using the mobile app and website.

To help applicants, banners have been put up at the relevant national bank branches and passport offices. Paying fees online is risky because they are non-refundable and non-transferable.
