Justice Qazi Faez Isa of the Supreme Court has objected to three nominations for their appointment as judges of the supreme court, according to a report on Saturday.
The objections were made just two days before the judicial commission’s meeting, which will be held on Monday (October 24, 2022), to approve the appointment of new Supreme Court (SC) judges.
According to sources, Justice Umar Bandial, Chief Justice of Pakistan, objected to the nomination of Justices Shahid Waheed of the Lahore High Court (LHC), Syed Hassan Azhar Rizvi of the Sindh High Court (SHC), and Shafi Siddiqui of the Sindh High Court (SHC), stating that their elevation to the Supreme Court had already been rejected on July 28, 2022, and it would not be appropriate to reconsider their names.
He emphasized the significance of taking the appointment of qualified judges to the SC into consideration.
