Death rate due to coronavirus continues to surge

According to statistics issued by the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) on Saturday morning, Pakistan has recorded another seven deaths and 357 coronavirus illnesses in the last 24 hours (Friday).

According to NCOC data, the overall toll has now risen to 28,870 after the inclusion of seven new deaths, while the total number of infections has now risen to 1,290,848 after the addition of 357 new cases.

A total of 47,903 tests were done across Pakistan in the last 24 hours (Friday), with a positivity rate of 0.74 percent. There were 666 patients in critical care.

239 people have recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours (Friday), bringing the overall number of recoveries to 1,252,396. The overall number of active cases in the country was 9,582 as of Saturday.

So far, 478,942 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Sindh, 444,119 cases in Punjab, 180,938 cases in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 108,240 cases in Islamabad, 33,548 cases in Balochistan, 34,633 cases in Azad Kashmir, and 10,428 cases in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Furthermore, the pandemic has claimed the lives of 13,057 people in Punjab, 7,649 in Sindh, 5,907 in KP, 963 in Islamabad, 745 in Azad Kashmir, 363 in Balochistan, and 186 in Gilgit Baltistan thus far.
