I will retire on completing my term, says Bajwa

General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Chief of the Army Staff, has stated unequivocally that he will retire after serving his full term.

The Army Chief stated during a luncheon at the Pakistani Embassy in Washington that the Armed Forces had distanced themselves from politics and wished to remain so.

General Bajwa also reminded the nation that reviving the ailing economy should be a top priority for all segments of society.

The Army Chief stated that he will fulfill his earlier promise to leave his post after completing his second three-year term in two months.

In an informal conversation with the luncheon guests, General Bajwa stated, “Rehabilitating the country’s sick economy should be the first priority of all sections of society.” Without a strong economy, the country will be unable to achieve its objectives. Diplomacy cannot exist without a strong economy.”

A large number of diplomats were also present at the ceremony, which was addressed by the Army Chief.

It should be noted that Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa is on an official visit to the United States. His second three-year term will end in two months.
