On Sunday, September 11, the fourth meeting between Sri Lanka and Pakistan will take place in the Asia Cup finals. Prior to it, Pakistan played the Lankan Lions three times, winning once and losing three times.
Sri Lanka, who dominated as the league leader, will have an advantage over Pakistan, who did a remarkable comeback in the Super 4.
The playing surface at Dubai International Cricket Stadium has been a batter’s sweet fantasy. The majority of teams opt to chase rather than set up a total because of the dew effect. Although Babar Azam’s team had lost the practice match, they are hoping to bounce back with a stronger performance against Sri Lanka, who have won the Asia Cup five times.
Sri Lanka is surpassed by Pakistan in terms of international match victories. In 234 international games played in three formats, Pakistan has prevailed 126 times while Sri Lanka has done so just 84 times. Sri Lanka won the Asia Cup finals twice, whereas Pakistan only managed to defeat them once, in 2000.
The Sri Lankan team consists of Pathum Nissanka, Kusal Mendis (wk), Dhananjaya de Silva, Danushka Gunathilaka, Bhanuka Rajapaksa, Dasun Shanaka (c), Wanindu Hasaranga, Chamika Karunaratne, Pramod Madushan, Maheesh Theekshana, Dilshan Madushanka, Jeffrey Vandersay, Ashen Bandara, Praveen Jay.
In opposed to this, the Pakistani team consists of Mohammad Rizwan (wk), Babar Azam (c), Fakhar Zaman, Iftikhar Ahmed, Khushdil Shah, Asif Ali, Mohammad Nawaz, Hasan Ali, Haris Rauf, Mohammad Hasnain, Usman Qadir, Haider Ali, Shahnawaz Dahani, Shadab Khan, and Naseem Shah.
