Flood Donation Appeal by UN Women Pakistan
In the wake of natural disasters in Pakistan, there is an increased risk of violence against women. UN Women is responding to the specific needs of displaced women and girls, including women with disabilities through floodFlood survivor gives birth to newborn ‘Sailab Khan’ appeal.
As flood situation in Pakistan according to UN Population Fund (UNFPA) , girls had been tormented by the unprecedented floods in the country. According to the estimate, at the least 650,000 pregnant girls, of whom 73,000 are anticipated to supply subsequent month, withinside the flood-affected regions are in dire want of maternal fitness service.
In this regard, UN Women together with their partners have stepped forward to provide help to the women of the country by comforting women with shelter, food, scientific aid, and sanitary products.
UN Women is making sure to help women through legal aid, counselling, and other supports for protecting and empowering women in the face of violence. UN Women is also providing cash transfers to the most vulnerable women facing the flood situation and in a dire need of financial assistance.
