APS Peshawar tragedy: Govt requesting more time to produce progress report

The federal government has asked the Supreme Court for more time to respond in the case of the Peshawar Army Public School attack and has stated that a cabinet committee has been formed to meet with the martyrs’ parents.

The Supreme Court had ordered Prime Minister Imran Khan to hear the martyrs’ parents’ comments, after which he directed officials to form a Cabinet committee.

According to the government’s plea in the Supreme Court, the government has created a committee to meet with the parents of the martyrs on December 16th, the anniversary of the APS Peshawar tragedy.

The text of the petition requested that the outcome of the meeting between the parents and the committee be made public, as well as a deadline for submitting a comprehensive implementation report to the court.

The court had requested that the PM provide a signed response within four weeks, which ends on December 10.

On the other hand, the Prime Minister’s commands led to the formation of the Cabinet committee. Shireen Mazari, Omar Ayub, Fehmida Mirza, and Sahibzada Mehboob Sultan are among the cast members.

Prime Minister Imran Khan appeared before Pakistan’s Supreme Court last month to discuss the terrible case of the Army Public School (APS).

At the court hearing, Justice Ijazul Ahsan stated that it is vital to appease the parents of the APS martyrs.

He indicated that they want action taken against the authorities at the time.
