Brad Pitt and Katrina settle for $20.5 million. Brad Pitt and his Make It Right Foundation have reached a $20.5 million settlement with 107 New Orleans residents who sued the Oscar-winning actor’s foundation over defective homes built for them in 2018.
The preliminary settlement, which still requires a judge’s approval, will be paid for by the environmental nonprofit Global Green, which has agreed to cover the settlement.
In the programme, residents will receive a $25,000 reimbursement for home repairs, while the remaining funds will be distributed based on the condition of their homes.

Thursday, the Bullet Train star said in a statement, “I am incredibly grateful for Global Green’s willingness to step up and provide this vital support for the Lower Ninth families.”
“We collaborated in the immediate aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, and we are extremely fortunate to have Global Green’s ongoing commitment to addressing the challenges surrounding these homes and others in need. He added that he hoped this agreement would allow everyone to look forward to future opportunities to continue to strengthen this prestigious community.
After Hurricane Katrina destroyed the Lower 9th Ward in 2005, killing more than 1,800 people, the 58-year-old Fury actor founded the Make It Right Foundation in 2007 to aid in the environmentally friendly reconstruction of the area.
