Advocate Chaudhry Khaleequz Zaman of the Lahore High Court (LHC) was appointed as the Punjab prosecutor general on Friday.
He took over for Arif Kamal Noon, who stepped down after the end of his term.
According to sources, Zaman, who is from Gujrat, retired as a sessions judge and was working as the National Accountability Bureau’s (NAB) deputy prosecutor general in cases involving former Prime Minister and PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif.
