The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) published a schedule for by-elections on seats that became vacant after National Assembly (NA) Speaker Raja Pervaiz Ashraf accepted the resignations of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MNAs.
According to the ECP’s schedule, by-elections for nine National Assembly seats will be held on September 25.
Candidates will be eligible to submit nomination papers from August 10 to August 13, with nomination papers being scrutinized on August 17.
It should be mentioned that over 100 PTI MNAs resigned from the National Assembly speaker following the ousting of former Prime Minister Imran Khan via a vote of no-confidence.
The National Assembly speaker accepted resignations from 11 of them a few days ago, and by-elections for nine lower house seats will take place on September 25.
