The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) de-notified 11 Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) National Assembly (MNAs) on Friday.
Earlier in the day, the ECP received 11 resignations from PTI MNAs, which were authorized by NA Speaker Raja Pervaiz Ashraf.
The ECP had called a meeting to hold consultations on how to handle these resignations.
After negotiations with leaders of the parties forming the coalition government at the Center, NA Speaker Raja Pervaiz Ashraf accepted the resignations of these MNAs yesterday (Thursday, July 28, 2022).
It is worth noting that following the success of the no-confidence motion against former Prime Minister Imran Khan, all of the PTI MNAs resigned.
The speaker, however, first accepted the resignations of 11 MNAs.
Shireen Mazari, Ali Muhammad Khan, Fazl Muhammad Khan, Shaukat Khan, Fakhar Zaman Khan, Farrukh Habib, Ijaz Shah, Akram Cheema, Jamil Ahmad Khan, Shandana Gulzar, and Abdul Shakoor Shaad were among the lawmakers whose resignations were accepted.
However, the names of PTI Chairman Imran Khan and Vice Chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi were not included on the list.
