Regretting the delay in the Election Commission of Pakistan’s (ECP) judgment in the Pakistan Tehreek-i-(PTI) Insaf’s foreign funding case, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah asked on Thursday, on behalf of all coalition parties, that the verdict be announced as soon as possible.
“I am at a loss to understand what is now stopping the commission from deciding the fate of the case when it has already reserved its decision after holding hearings for eight years,” he said while addressing a press conference in Islamabad.
He claimed that India and Israel gave the PTI Rs50 billion in funding.
He went on to say that it was also a verified truth that the party had been supported by 350 foreigners and over 300 foreign corporations.
In response to the PTI’s call for general elections in the country, the interior minister suggested former Prime Minister and PTI Chairman Imran Khan first dissolve the assemblies in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
