The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) approved a Rs9.89 per unit increase in electricity tariffs on Thursday at the request of the Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA).
According to official sources, Nepra heard the CPPA’s request to increase the electricity tariff due to the monthly fuel-cost adjustment for the month of June.
Following clearance, electricity customers will be required to pay Rs1.33 billion.
“A full decision in this regard will be released following a review,” Nepra officials said.
Previously, the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) approved an increase in the electricity cost for K-Electric customers of Rs11.37 per unit.
The Nepra authorized K-Electric to raise the electricity tariff in June to account for the monthly fuel cost adjustment.
After carefully evaluating all of the facts and numbers, the Nepra will provide a thorough decision.
It should be emphasized that the rise in the power tariff would not affect K-life-line Electric’s customers.
