The federal cabinet issued a notification on Wednesday to replace the director general of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).
According to the notice, the federal cabinet confirmed Mohsin Butt’s appointment as FIA Director General.
Mohsin Butt is a Pakistan Police Service grade-22 officer (PSP).
Furthermore, the federal cabinet authorized Muhammad Tahir Rai’s appointment as the National Coordinator of the National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA).
Tahir Rai was the FIA’s director general at the time.
Furthermore, the appointment of the governor of the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has been postponed.
The prime minister appointed a six-member committee to select the SBP governor.
Cabinet okays withdrawal of reference against Justice Qazi Faez Isa
The meeting’s participants agreed that the government would serve out its remaining term.
The federal cabinet has agreed to remove the reference filed against Supreme Court (SC) judge Justice Qazi Faez Isa, for which Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif would write to President Arif Alvi.
It was also agreed that a debate on the powers of courts would be held in parliament.
The government-to-government (G-to-G) Bill allowing the sale of national assets was also authorized by the cabinet.
