Cotton prices increased after rains damaged many zones. Despite the damage that rains have done to many cotton zones, there has been a tremendous increase in cotton prices over the past few days.
In the last four days, the price of cotton has increased by Rs2,000 per maund nationwide, while it has recently increased to Rs17,000 per maund in Sindh.
As Cotton prices have been increased after rains damaged many zones, on the other hand, recent, intense monsoon rains have severely damaged the majority of cotton zones.
Cotton is a soft, fluffy staple fibre that grows in a boll, or protective case, around the seeds of cotton plants in the Malvaceae family.
The fibre is almost entirely cellulose, with minor amounts of waxes, fats, pectins, and water. Cotton bolls will aid in the dispersal of seeds in natural conditions.
