SC to determine whether ECP can implement Article 62-1F

Chief Justice Umar Atta Bandial stated on Tuesday that the Supreme Court must determine whether the Election Commission can apply Article 62-1F.

His comments came during the hearing of an appeal in the disqualification case of Faisal Vawda.

Faisal Vawda’s appeal was heard by a three-judge panel led by Chief Justice Umar Atta Bandial.

The Supreme Court directed the lawyers to prepare arguments for the scope of Article 62-1F implementation.

According to the Chief Justice, invoking Article 62-1F is a very serious matter. Vawda’s lawyer requested an early hearing on the appeal, which the court denied.

Because Nisar Khoro’s lawyer was unavailable, the Supreme Court postponed the case’s hearing.

The court, on the other hand, has ordered all of the parties’ lawyers to prepare arguments for the application of Article 62-1F of the Constitution.

The court postponed the hearing on Faisal Vawda’s appeal against the Election Commission’s decision until September.
