Rahat Ali Khan massively fined after FBR traced his secret bank account

Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, an internationally renowned singer, was hit with a hefty fine of Rs40.23 million by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) on Thursday after the tax authority was able to locate his hidden bank account.

Rahat Fateh Ali Khan only disclosed information about the HBL and Alfalfah Bank accounts in his wealth declaration, according to sources.

Rahat Fateh Ali’s secret account in Al Baraka Bank, where the singer had deposited Rs50.55 million, was discovered by FBR Intelligence and Inland Wing after they continued their search for a hidden bank account.

The tax was implemented during the 2016 fiscal year.

The singer has been given a month by the FBR to submit the fine that has been imposed.
