The Government College University Lahore invited renowned entrepreneurs and CEOs to their campus on Wednesday to share their experiences with students in order to make the youth more resilient and empowered.
The successful entrepreneurs discussed their shortcomings with GCU students, telling them not to be afraid of failure in life. They went on to say that the prerequisite for success is “junoon” for the task.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Asghar Zaidi kicked off the TEDx-style speeches, which were followed by remarks from Pakistan’s leading entrepreneurs.
Under the aegis of the University’s Business Incubation Centre, the entrepreneurial presentations branded Junoon Talks x GCU were also videotaped for a larger audience on social media.
In the first session, Salim Ghauri, founder, and CEO of NetSol Technologies, Nabeel Qadir, founder of DirAction, Fatima Asad Said, CEO of Abacus Global, and many more famous and successful entrepreneurs addressed the students and inspired them to come up with unique ideas.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Zaidi stated in his opening presentation to Junoon Talks that our youth are disoriented owing to a lack of work prospects in the market, and that in this situation, the guidance of top entrepreneurs would act as lampposts to guide them to establish their own enterprises.
He stated that Allama Iqbal linked youth to “Shaheen” because Shaheen is far-sighted, bold, and forward-thinking, and Allama Iqbal desired to see these qualities in Muslim youth.
He stated that there are three fundamental principles on which human existence thrives: diversity, curiosity, and creativity, but they are unfortunately undermined by the existing educational culture in our country.
Salim Ghauri, CEO of NetSol Technologies, informed students in his talk that the world has become a global village, and that there are numerous chances accessible for kids in the digital domain; they simply need the necessary skills and supervision to take advantage of these opportunities.
He stated that they do not look at grades when recruiting young grads, and that what matters to them is passion, i.e. “junoon.” He described his path to achievement, saying, “Never fear failures.”
According to Nabeen Qadeer, there are numerous failures behind every accomplishment, although they are typically hidden. “People notice our achievements, but our failures are more important because we learned from them,” he added.
He emphasized the need of discussing these failures so that our young can grasp the process of success.
Fatima Asad stated that the route to leadership begins at home and emphasized the significance of family values.
The talks of Umar Qamar, the Co-Founder of Export leftovers, and Maha Khalid the Co-Founder of 24Seven.pk, were also highly appreciated by students.
