118 people arrested over Lankan’s lynching: Report sent to PM

The Punjab administration has sent Important Minister Imran Khan a preliminary report on the lynching of a Sri Lankan manufacturing manager in Sialkot, stating that 118 people have been apprehended, including the main perpetrator Farhan Adrees and 12 other prime suspects.
The Punjab police have also arrested the people who inspired the demonstrators against the plant manager over the alleged blasphemy crime, according to a report issued to the prime minister on Saturday.

Local government and secret agencies delivered the report’s early findings at a meeting in Lahore presided over by Punjab Law Minister Raja Basharat.

The incident was reported around 11:26 a.m., according to the report. By that time, factory workers had spilled onto the road, obstructing the police’s ability to respond quickly and arrive at the scene of the incident on time.

The incident’s facts, including how it occurred, are included in the report. It all started with a religious inscription on a sticker. The factory was set to host a few foreign visitors. Priyantha Kumara, the factory’s export manager, allegedly instructed his employees to remove the sticker. When the staff allegedly disobeyed his orders, he took the religious sticker down personally.

Following that, both the factory owners and the administration vanished from the scene. Then came the tragic episode of the manager’s murder, according to the article, which also states that the police have gained custody of the CCTV footage.

According to the report, the arrested individuals have been relocated to unknown locations for further investigation. According to the report, culprit Junaid was apprehended while snapping photographs with the burning body of Sri Lankan manager Kumara. According to the report, police have carried over 200 raids thus far.

According to the report, the other factory managers assisted in identifying the individuals engaged in the incident.

After receiving a call, Rescue 1122 officials arrived at the scene quickly, according to the report. However, due to a minimal number of police officers, the Sri Lankans could not be saved from the enraged throng.

The evidence was collected by the police and transferred to a forensic laboratory. CCTV images and recordings from mobile phones were used to make the arrests. The police will also perform forensic examination of CCTV video in order to apprehend the culprits of the heinous crime. The Special Branch, the Counter-Terrorism Department, and other law enforcement organisations conducted raids in coordination with the police.

The body will be flown to the Sri Lankan Embassy in London.

The Punjab Home Department, on the other side, called the Sri Lankan Embassy in Islamabad.

According to sources, Priyantha Kumara’s body would be flown to Islamabad on a special aeroplane later today. The body would subsequently be sent to Colombo by the Sri Lankan Embassy.

Officials from the US Department of Homeland Security had informed the Sri Lankan Embassy that the body would be delivered.

CCTV footage is being forensically examined.

Hasaan Khawar, a Punjab government spokeswoman, told the media that Prime Minister Imran Khan and Chief Minister Usman Buzdar were personally directing the probe into the gruesome murder of the Sri Lankan manager.

He stated that a case had been opened based on a police complaint. He said 110 people had been arrested and that the province government was forensically examining the videos. He pledged to see that justice was served.

Punjab IG Rao Sardar, speaking on the occasion, said police were investigating with the help of 160 CCTV cameras.

“We’re looking into every detail of the situation.” “We present our challan in court after we finish our inquiry,” the IG said.

After arriving at the place, the police, according to the IG Police, were able to maintain control of the situation. He stated that the event occurred at 10:02 a.m. and that police were notified at 11:28 a.m.

According to a government official, the police would investigate every possible suspect’s role and involvement.

The event occurred within the factory, according to the IG police, and officers were not there.
