PM Shehbaz takes notice of banks’ bad performance in Hajj operations

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has taken note of the banks’ poor performance in the country’s Hajj activities this year.

On Tuesday, while chairing a Federal Cabinet meeting in Islamabad, the prime minister requested a report from the finance minister on complaints about applications from intending pilgrims and banks.

After identifying those accountable for the mishandling, the finance minister will submit the report within a week.

Shehbaz Sharif has asked the minister of religious affairs to ensure that pilgrims have the best amenities and preparations possible.

The federal cabinet also resolved to grant multiple visas to Afghan transporters for six months, which will assist develop trade with Afghanistan and Central Asia.

The visa can be extended indefinitely.

The federal cabinet also postponed a decision on raising the electricity cost for Karachi residents.
