Pakistan will tour Sri Lanka in early January 2026 for a short but important three-match T20I series, as both teams gear up for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. According to reports, the tour itinerary has been finalized, with all matches set to take place in Dambulla.
The series is slated to run from January 7 to 11, with the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium hosting all three fixtures.

Next year’s T20 World Cup will be jointly staged by India and Sri Lanka from February 7 to March 8. Under the Hybrid Model, Pakistan will play its entire World Cup campaign in Sri Lanka, avoiding travel to India while still competing at a neutral venue.
Sources indicate that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) remained in regular contact to finalize the series, which has now reportedly been agreed upon.
The matches will offer Pakistan valuable preparation time in Sri Lankan conditions just weeks before the global tournament, helping the team settle combinations and adapt to the type of pitches they are likely to encounter during the World Cup.
All games have been shifted to Dambulla due to renovation and upgrade work underway at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo and the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium.
The same stadium upgrades also forced Sri Lanka Cricket to delay the sixth edition of the Lanka Premier League (LPL), originally planned for November–December.
