Australia’s 2026 tour of Pakistan is likely to undergo changes, with the three-match ODI series originally scheduled for March 2026 now unlikely to take place on its initial dates due to the Pakistan Super League.
According to sources, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and Cricket Australia (CA) have opened discussions to redraw the schedule.
The ODIs were pencilled in for 13 to 19 March, but the window now clashes with the latter stages of PSL 11. Both boards are considering shifting the series to immediately after the league ends, ensuring venue availability and proper preparation time for both sides.
PCB and CA are reportedly reviewing multiple options to avoid congestion and keep the tour intact.
While the ODI dates of Australia’s tour of Pakistan remain uncertain, there is firm clarity regarding the T20 leg of the tour.
Visitors to arrive from 30 January to 5 February
The visitors are set to reach for a three-match T20I series from 30 January to 5 February, just weeks before the 2026 T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka.
Both boards view these matches as crucial preparation.
For Pakistan, the series offers a chance to test combinations at home. For Australia, it provides competitive subcontinental practice before the global event.
Pakistan and Australia last played a bilateral ODI series in 2024 in Australia, a contest that produced a historic moment under Mohammad Rizwan’s captaincy as the visitors won the series 2-1, their first one-day triumph on Australian soil since 2002.
With that backdrop, the 2026 tour carries extra interest. The confirmed T20Is will serve as an early marker, while the rescheduled ODIs, once finalized, will offer Pakistan a chance to build on their growing confidence against the Australians.
As the fans await further news of the rescheduled ODI series, the anticipation remains high for Australia’s first ODI tour of Pakistan since 2022.
