Faisalabad police arrested a person who allegedly threatened to harm the Australian cricket team during a phone call to the Australian interior ministry on Thursday.
According to police, the accused, identified as Irfan, a resident of Sarfraz Colony, called the Australian interior ministry and threatened to harm the Australian cricket team, which was visiting Pakistan for a Test and ODI series as well as a T20 match at the time.
On the basis of a Special Branch report, Rana Mazharul Haq, the Station House Officer (SHO) of Ghulam Muhammad Abad, arrested the accused and recovered his cell phone, which he had used to call the Australian Interior Ministry.
He was the subject of a new investigation.
